Why should extended test times be considered for deaf students, even for online courses?

Deaf students may need more time to process English-based test questions, especially if their primary language is American Sign Language (ASL). Online courses are often text-heavy, which can add to the challenge of understanding complex or unfamiliar wording. Extended time gives students a fair chance to show what they know—work with the student and disability services to decide what’s best.
