Are automatic captions enough for accessibility?

Automatic captions can be a starting point, but they are often not accurate enough for learning. They may miss words, names, or key details, or appear out of sync with the video.

For captions to be accessible, they need to be accurate, complete, and easy to follow. Schools should review and correct automatic captions—or replace them with high-quality captions—so students receive clear and reliable access to the information.
