This is my first time teaching a deaf student. What should I keep in mind?
Start with this key reminder: not all deaf students are the same. Each student’s access needs and accommodations may be different, depending on the course and setting. Most disability services offices will provide a letter of accommodations to guide your conversation with the student about how to create an equitable learning experience.
